Little problem with B18C Vtec. Currently using the B18C Vtec solenoid (works) and jumping from A8 to B5, but Vtec doesnt work. Oil pressure is good, timing is stock, tried different PR3/PW0 ECU, no codes...I want to try the B16A1 Vtec solenoid and use the oil pressure switch to see if that works, but I dont have the female connector plug. Does anyone have a plug I could buy or borow (I live in Costa Mesa). If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to lend some advice.
is you VSS/speedo working?
the PR3 B18C depends on speed signal going to the ECU for VTEC to work. i should know. i just had the same problem on my 97 ITR motor when i installed it this past summer.
edit: if you arent getting any codes, then this isnt your problem. sorry

Ya! everything works... except Vtec. Im going to terminate B5 and hook up the Vtec controller and drop it down to 4200RPM and go from there. It would be nice to try it with 2 wire Vtec solenoid. No idea on where to get that oil pressure connector?
best place for random, cheap honda parts = your local import junkyard. although a junkyard probably wont let you off easy for just a connector (especially an important one).
just pray they are Gumps, and dont know much about VTEC engines. LOL

You'd be surprised. I got an entire wiring harness from an acura vigor and the oxygen sensor for $10. I was looking for an obd 1 dizzy plug last weekend. Found one on a 93 accord. Went to pay for it and the cashier said I could have it.
I couldn't believe it.
I got a plug that will work. It's not green with the blu and blk wires. But it will work. PM me if interested.
