Just put a 94 jdm gsr into my 92 cx hatch. At first the car ran fine but kept throwing a code 7. After driving the car about for about 20 minutes it started to go crazy. The engine would cut out and the rpm's would drop and then come back on and if I let off of the gas completely it would die and then I had trouble restarting it. could the tps be causing all of this? I did ideas as to what my problem might be. please help my car has been sitting for 3 months now and I really want to get this thing on the road. any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

 

I had a code 7 but never cut out on me...One thing that I figured out early on was some wires on the frontside on my tranny were crossed and caused my car (3 days after swap) to make RPMS go nuts after 4500 RPM and surge the car and then the speedometer went crazy and then the car died and wouldnt start...Next day, thought about it, them wires came to mind as them came unplugged from the senor there...and then VOILA...Nothing ever since....

 

what wires are you refering to?

It was the wires from a sensor on the front side of the tranny...right behind the radiator...Two wires...Black and Grn/Blk I think...All I know is that Im running fine now...

will a tps make the car misfire and stall while driving? I installed a new one before I put the motor in because it got smashed. So I don't understand why it is throwing a code 7....please I'm new at this and need some advice, thanks!!

i just did almost an identical swap over the summer and had what seem to be similar problems. it turned out to be the distributor. i got a new one and has been running perfect for a couple of months now.

 

could a bad ground possibly be causing this?

 

anyone give out help anymore?
