Default I have $500-$600 to spend on a system for my Integra. Need some advice

OK I have a "feeling" that on the 25th I will be getting around $450 to a local car audio place. I think I can throw maybe $150 of my own money in.

So you guys have $600. I know a pretty good amount about car audio but I am looking for some more advice. I was thinking a new head unit and some new interior's. But that seems to be a little out of my price range if I want good quality stuff. So I was also thinking that I just get the speakers and wait a month for my b-day and get the head unit then.

Do i have enough $ for a head unit and speakers? Do you have any suggestions as to what brands I should look into?

BTW( I listen to just about everything, but if my music trends were to be swayed one way it would be more toward rab/r&b)
Hope you can help!!!!

Being that its at a local place your prolly only have money for a head unit. It all depends on how nice of a system you want. Its better to save the money and get the good equipment you want.

For $600 you can get a good HU and some okay speakers. The stock system in my GSR is really good I think. I plan and upgrading it once I get the money. But its going to cost me $1500-$2000 for parts to do what I want.

As for brands. HU - I would get an MP3 unit if I were you. JVC SD-99 is nice Its around $299. Alpine makes excellent deck, Pioneers are nice also.

Speakers - JL or Infinity Components. But then you need an amp to power them. JBL p80.2 is nice for the $$.

I would get a eclipse head unit there the bomb a little pricy though but like they say you get what you pay for, also a nakamichi would also be good but if you like that fancy look then its not for you.

Depends on your eventual system goals. If you're going to be running everything off of external amps in the future, you really don't need a top-notch deck. Just find one that's reliable, has decent FM reception, RCA outputs, and sub-control. Although, I admit MP3 playback or XMradio would be nice. Do the install yourself (really not that hard), and you're only out $200, which leaves more than enough for some good component speakers.

Of course . . . . higher end speakers are going to need an amp to drive them . . . . so you could just get the amp & wiring done with the remaining $400. Then as soon as you're ready to buy speakers & subs, it's plug & play.

Just some ideas.
