Removed AC, what should i do about the evaporator?
Well when I was replacing my clutch, not too long ago i decided to remove the AC, I removed the condenser alll the lines, the drivers side fan, and I just took out the evaporator, (I still need to remove the compressor, because I dont have a belt yet), but I want to keep my heat since i live in minnesota and winter is coming up,

Can I just gut the evaporator and use the ousing around it so the heat will go where its supposed to?
thanks
-Charlie

I gutted it and covered the hole with the plastic piece and duct tape
you should probably leave the drain hole in the bottom though

I will buy the evaporator if it will fit a 5th gen accord. I want ac fl is too hot.
Edit: looks like your just pulling it for temp n/m above statement.

The complete ac system weighs around 32lbs
The complete ac system weighs around 32lbs
Is loosing ac worth the big 32 lbs. I wich i had ac but i aciddenly trashed my evaporator. I cant wait to find someone parting out a 5th gen accord so i can get a evaporator for my car. I dont have the money to spend like 150-200 for a evaporator. In florida its a must unless you wanna show up every were with sweat stains on your ***** lol.
Keep the evaporator in the kaa if you remove it you remove a critical link in getting air from the blower to the heater unit.
Blower is on the passanger side; followed by the evaporator; followed by the heater unit.

You obviously did not notice the fact that I live in minnesota,
Why carry around an extra 32 lbs, if you never use it, thats like carrying $5 worth of change in each one of your pockets, and never bothering to take it out, because your worth more with it
Plus modifiying your car in general is taking away from its value, and if i was going to sell my car Id sell it to someone in MN that wants a modified car so they probably would not want the AC anyways
this was my reasoning for taking out the AC in my car, im not just gutting out the car so ill run one tenth of a second faster in the 1/4, plus im going for a drag car anyways
