Help Broke Bolt off in engine head!
So I jumped on the OBX wagon... I got some of their 4-2-1 headers and installed them yesterday. Don't know how they will hold up in the long run but it was an easy install and fit very nicely. Ok on to my problem... I apparently fucked up when I was trying to torque one of the bolts that connect the headers to the head and the son of a shitball broke off. Yes I know this is operator error but how the **** do I get that out? Appreciate ANY ideas.
Have you already tried drilling/tapping it? Is any of the bolt sticking out? You may be able to stick a flat head screwdriver and slowly hammer it around till it comes out. Takes a long time but worth the head.
Go to sears and get a screw reverser / "easy out" set. They have a drill bit that has a little drill part in the tip and a reverse thread to pull the broke piece out. Its pretty easy to do, just drill it out. Also be sure to be using a clicking type torque wrench and be stopping when it clicks.
Thanks guys I appreciate the advice. I found that I set the torque wrench to the wrong setting. Oh well, I'll let you know how it turns out.
