Default T3 .42/.48

What RPM does the t3 .42/.48 start spooling at? At what rpm does it start losing boost? How reliable is the saab internal wastegate? Anyone experience any spikes with it? How much whp is this turbo good for? Thanks

depends on the gear.
but in 2nd gear 10psi,would start spooling around 2500 and reach full boost by 3600rpm maximun torque would be realized around 4400-4600rpm,on a d16z6 will hold boost till redline, but after 6500rpm dont expect power to keep rising instead stay steady from 6600-7200rpm.

14b coupe pretty much nailed the power delivery part for like a 50trim T3. Thats how mine is in 2nd with a short tubular mani. What size is your compresor wheel?

The saab internal gates are bullet proof. I see lots of high milage turbos from saabs and all of the WGs swing freely. Theres really not much to go wrong.

I ported out the WG in a few areas to make it flow better. I think I got the discharge opening to a full 2.5" and I also put a big radius on the inside edge of the opening, right above the WG. The rest I just blended in to the wheel and smoothed the sides a bit. Porting the WG hole in the turbine housing may help with any boost control issues at higher boost. Just run a full 2.5" right from the turbo. no need to step the DP even if you don't port it out.

As for HP I have no hands on experiance but 250 whp should be pretty do able since 60trims can make 300whp with the same turbine wheel. I'm doing a setup for a guy with a built z6/a6 and we are going run a 50 trim at around 15psi maybe more, until he gets a hybrid. If we dyno it i'm sure he'll throw some sheets up for all the T3 fans.
