Saab t3- d16z6 few q's tried search please look
Have a saab t3 which i want to put on d16z6, engine is stock at the moment got a t25 on there at mo and boost does'nt last til the redline so want to go bigger for dragging etc!!! My questions are do u know when i will start to boost and when im likely to hit full boost? wanting to hit about 9-10psi have 2.5" downpipe! also it has an stock saab external wastegate anyone know what they are set at? Also the wastegate has 2 vacuum lines coming off of it, i thought they only needed 1 could it be a recirculating wastegate? anyhelp greatly appreciated! have already searched but with no luck

Check for ANY exhaust leaks on the turbo turbine side at wastegate and check for exhaust leaks anywhere on the turbo manifold, check exhaust leaks at the flange between the turbo and manifold, check for exhaust leaks from the manifold and the head.
Exhaust leaks are usaly easy to find in these areas because it will have black soot trails at the leaks, Leaks can prevent your turbo from spooling like you say.
Another thing. Check ALL vacumelines, or just replace them all (only like $2-3 at autozone for new lines...) Check all chargepipe's for holes or places for boost leaks, Check all Couplings holding the chargepipes to oneanother, If you have to, take all your charges pipes off, reinstall them being VERY carful making sure you are air tight, and on your coupling clamps, tighting them like you havent gottin laid in 6 week's haha. But dont "break them"
I had a 14b on a d16z6 (not the same but similar) and it held boost VERY well to revlimit.
T3's would be a nice upgrade for you for sure and would make more power im sure too. But if you tuned your setup and had everything right. You should be more than happy with your setup.
When my car wasnt running right, i installed the turbo kit and went strait to teh track. I had boost leaks, tunning problems... you name it i had it. I ran 13.9 @ 102 on 7psi w/ a 1/4 tank of gas and just a front seat in the car. After i tuned the a/f's & timing, Fixed the boost leaks had it running correctly. on 7.9psi I ran 12.7 @ 110 with full tank of gas & full interior. Just hoping that can show how big of a differnce between something that isnt right and something taht is..
Good Luck to u tho and use the search button correctly. You can sellect to search Recent content or.. Archived content Try the archived. More than enough info in there to keep you reading for months lol

yea it sounds like you have a boost or vacuum leak if you keep turning up the boost and it does nothing. I've heard that t25's are pretty notorious though for losing a couple pounds of boost around 6000rpms. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to turn the boost up more though....

check your wastgate. Could be cracked, or this happened to my dad''s old 14B, it actually moved over a little bit (worn out) and was always exposing a little bit of the hole open at all time and it wouldn't let the turbo boost hardly at all. Didn't know what was going on until we upgraded to his 16g.
