need horse power for a d16 non vtec
i have a 96 civic with a d16 stock except for a cold air intake. im thinkin about turbocharging it but it has a 120000 miles and dont know if it would still be reliabloe for everyday use. any other suggestions on how to gain speed with out spending to much.

If you want to street driving your car daily, best bang for your dollar would be a bolt on turbo kit. But it takes time and effort to maintain a good turbo setup.
If you go all out, you can stay NA, just lighten your car to the bare minimum.
It all comes down to power weight ratio. D engine might not make that much power (in NA form) compare to other platforms, but with a light vehicle, you will feel differently, for sure.

y would u wanna gain speed? well im going to assume u ment power cuz to gain speed all u have to do is hold your foot on the floor till your engine blows. what about putting a y8 head on with a cam and turbo?

without spending to much... turbo is def to much if i was you i would hit it up with a nice zex kit

I turboed mine with right about 120k on it and have put another 20-25k on it.

From what I understand, BauleyCivic just very recently went turbo. I remember his post asking if his oil return line was okay.

Don't jump into boosting your car. Learn about your car first. I hate to see you boost your car then the **** blows up 'cause you don't know what the **** your doing. Learn first about all the **** that goes along with forced induction.

5.5 psi, have put about 500 miles on it
