MSD Blaster 3 coil Ballast resistor question

MSD Blaster 3 coil Ballast resistor question
I'm planning to run an external coil with the stock ignition system and AEM EMS. Is a ballast resistor required with the Blaster 3 coil? I've searched the archives and most say no but some people have used them.
I would like to hear from you guys before I install the coil. Thanks in advance.
