Jack Stands on all 4?
I am wondering is it safe to put the car on all 4 jackstands. i am wondering this becasue i am goig to change the transmission fluid and i need it level but i need it raised to do it also. what have people done to solve the lifing issue with changeing the transmission fluid?
I lift the front of the car and drain the tranny fluid, put the drain plug back in and then drop the car back down. Then I fill it from the top, I just have someone else fill it while I lay on the ground and watch for it to start running out. 4 jack stands work too

Yes. Do it quite often.

I had my car on 4 jackstands for months. For tranny fluid I just jack up the front, open the drain plug, lower the car down till it drains, then put the plug in, pull the pan out from underneath and lower the car and fill

i always thought jack stands were safer than a jack no matter how long your gonna be under there, with that bein said i never use em to change my tranny fluid just lift the front pull the plug slowly let down till it drains out, lift back up and put plug back in, but yeah its safe to put on all jack stands
Indeed, you don't need to raise the entire vehicle. I just raise it from the passenger side, and lower it until I can't get under there. By then, there probably isn't any fluid left, if any. Then, drop the car down and fill it from the top with a funnel and a 4ft hose attached to it.

You could use those handy ramps from Kragen or any other autoparts store. Wait to you have to remove the wheel? well if so you can back up onto the ramps and raise the front up
