Default boosted crx ?s

hey i have an '88 crx si, D16A6 all stock internals. I want to know what a safe boosting level is? I will be using 450cc injectors and a S-AFC II, it is also going to be intercooled. I searched but couldn't really find someone with a decent match, i mean i saw some things but those were usually for like y8s or z6s and i have an a6.

also, if i were to get a good set of low compression pistons and rods, then what could be a safe boost level?

oh and what kind of times and hp can i expect at these levels?

Thanks!

dude dont go to the darkside....allmotor is way more cool.

But honestly only way to find out what is safe is to dyno tune it. And stay below 8 psi on stock block?

For numbers go to the dyno to get them.

For 1/4 times go to the race track and tell us what that thing runs.

Preface: I am only answering because you are from Daytona and I am a former Riddle Student.

The answer is more based on your tune than anything else. All things considered, with a good tune I have known guys run 10 pounds stock block with uberdata.

As to with low compression pistons and better rods. Again the tune will be the limiting reagent. Eagles rods are supposed to be good to 42 pounds. The stock sleeves will break before forged pistons crack.

Go to Daytona Street and Performance and talk to Scott. You can even tell
him Zach with the white Eclipse told you to go there.

i have the same set up and i'm running a safe 7.5psi or so around town then i have ran 18psi at the track and posted a best of an 8.2 in the 1/8. but are you going for like the homemade setup turbo wise or are you putting a little money into it? but still the main thing is good tuning and that is where you should put the most emphasis in your build.

please tell me "18psi" is a type-o and u meant 8..

your limiting factor is the AFC, 6-8psi is the most id do. the AFC advances ignition timing while "correcting" fuel flow. this is do to how it adjust fuel flow. it tells the ecu that there is x% LESS voltage from the map, so the ecu gets fuel values from a different part of the fuel map, but that also has a different ign value as well..

get something like a MSD BTM.

its a "homemade" setup persay. Its not a pre-fabed kit, i am buying everything seperate to how i want it. not like junkyard, but handpicked i guess would be the terms.

i ran 15 psi for about 2 months w/o any problems whatsoever, and i've taken the kit off since then, and my car runs fine. but i could only really get on it in 1st and 2nd bc my clutch would blow out in the other gears.

it would be way cheaper for him to boost his a6 which he already has then to swap out the motor to make it all motor and hit the same power he would with just boosting his a6,

It all depends on your tuning if i were you i would at leats get pistons and rods but if not i wouldnt run more then 6 psi untill you get it dyno tuned, you should get uberdata, or hondata
