Default Ticking noise (did search)

I have looked at a lot of the other posts about ticking noises and most seem to have the general response that the car needs a valve adjustment. I plan on doing this soon, but I also wanted to add that the the noise ceases when the clutch pedal is pressed all the way in (Very high pitch and fast tick). Any additional input?

How much am I looking at to get this fixed, and how bad is it to be driving? You may be right about the throwout bearing, but if it is the throwout bearing wouldn't I be having some more problems with shifting and such? Thanks for the info guys.

Bearing itself will run you about 30 bucks.

Whether you've taken a tranny off before will tell you how much installation will cost, but it sounds like you haven't, it’s not terribly difficult.

If do it yourself it'll be about $30+your time (which could include having to buy some tools and grease, among possible other things)

If you have a shop do it, well I don’t know never been to one.

I've always been pretty competent with cars, but for some reason transmission work has always intimidated me . I'm afraid I'm going to get the tranny off and then screw something up else and be totally screwed. When the tranny on my WRX blew it was the one and only thing I had fixed somewhere else.
I was looking through my helms manual and it doesn't look all that bad, but I think I'll call around and get some estimates first. Any recommendations- whether person, shop, or other- are greatly appreciated.

Pulling a tranny isn't really that HARD. I would recomend doing it yourself. Just take your time and use your manual and if you run into snags ask for advise. You really cant mess anything up to bad if you take your time you will be fine. I would also suggest since you will have it off and be saving some cash by doing it yourself, replace the clutch and flywheel. (Get the best you can afford)

Good Luck
