Default Changing Transmission Fluid

I know how to drain it through the drain plug and i know what the filler plug is. My first question 1.) what does vss stand for? I read posts taht say fill the transmission fluid through the vss. and my second question 2.) when i fill it through the filler hole, how do i get it in there?i have seen on other posts that people say to use a pump. what kind of pump? any info would be helpful.

VSS- vechicle speed sensor
the fill plug is right above the drain, drain used a 3/8 rachet, fill is a 17mm bolt
everyone does it a different way, i wont take the vss out to fill, i use a funnel and a small clear hose , make sure the car is even/level. put the hose in the fill hole and fill untill it starts to drip out, usually about 2 quarts.
Also there is a valve on the top of the tranny with a rubber plug on it, its a vent i take it off so it will drain and fill quicker.

hope that helps you

clear hose and a funnel would work... not always 2 quarts... depends on the motor... my b18c1 uses 3.

Maybe so... i remember pouring in 3 and just letting all the excess drip out of the fill hole

I filled my tranny during the end of the swap so the car was jacked up in the front. I drove it and shifting wasn't smooth. Later, refilled the tranny while the car is on the ground and I was able to add another half quart.

I got a pump at a local parts store (Autozone or Orielly). Its like 2-3 bucks. It makes it a lot easier to fill the tranny.
