Default Low Power

I've had my '91 Sedan EX for less than 6 months and I love it. But lately its been raining and beginning to get really cold. Before, my car used to roar with power, but as the weather began to change, the car doesnt roar at all anymore...kinda like a moaning now. Picture yourself flooring the car, letting it redline itself, thats the sound it used to have, but now, it doenst do that anymore and it doesnt seem to accelerate like it used to...could the weather have any effect on my motor???

Actually Im going to have to disagree with you. I have a 96 with 150K and I havent lost any power since I got it with 48K. I basically floor the crap out of it almost every where I go. I have to in order to keep up with the flow of traffic.

I think you might want to have your car looked at lil accord rider, or maybe get yourself a helms and check things out yourself. I dont want to sound mean but coming on here and telling us your car has lost power and ask us what could it be is kinda asinine.

Also you should notice that your car has better performance in the cooler weather than in the heat.

I agree With 95Accordster that reving at real high RPM"S will cause more friction and eventually less power but it sounds like you have lost alot of power so something else has caused it. If you give more detail maybe we can help locate the problem. Good luck man

Well, i dont floor it all the time, only when theres traffic and it lets out quickly or when people get in the way when im in a rush after switching lanes.

Well, it hasnt rained for 2 days and my motor seems to have improved, but i think its only temporary....i dont really have any details though. I'll keep you guys up to date if it happens again, or if i find the source of the problem.

Thanks for the help guys.

That sounds like normal driving to me.

Do you practice routine maintenance? When's the last time your car had a tune up?

I just had a major tune-up when i got the car, about 6 months ago...it was running fine, until it began to rain.
