Default well blew the rings....

As some of you know I recently went to the darkside, and well it dident take long to blow the rings do to a boost spike or two. So bad that I blow the oil dipstick out under boost ans oil goes everywhere.

Ok question, will a h22a fit right into place of my h22a1, meaning same wiring harness ,ecu, ect.

Just trying to put a spare motor in there for now so the A1 can be built with no time rushing.

a little OT here, how high did the boost spike when it blew your engine?

sorry to dig deep in a painful subject...

really sorry to hear this man.....as it is my nightmare right now. i'm interested in the same question, but i'd like to know if a non-sh block can be used on an sh? are they the same? don't mean to jack, but it's a similar question.

did you notice any warning signs? like burning oil?

Sorry to hear....I'd also like to know what caused the spike.

I would think that if they are both of the same OBD that the harnesses would be interchangable...

As long as you use the usdm fuel rail, and distributor you should have no problems dropping it right in. (This is do to RHD and JDM internal coil)

Correct me if im wrong anybody

Good Luck with the swap and rebuild.

H22's are all more or less interchangeable. There are a few exceptions however... Any H22 can be adapted to a manual tranny, but it would be quite dificult to put atts on a non-atts block. So if you want to keep atts, find an atts longblock (like from another sh). An atts block can be used with a regular tranny if you make an adapter plate for the intermediate shaft. OBD2 can be used with OBD1, but injectors are different and crank sensor can be on the oil pump (instead of distributor). If you get a longblock and reuse your existing distributor, wiring harness, and injectors, it should go right in. hth
