open up the passenger side kickpanel (on passenger side, to the right hand side where ur feet will be, u will see a plastic cover held together by a 2 plastic round clips. one of the clips is close to the floor and the other one (which is larger than the other one and Black in color is located more towards the front of the car. it looks like a large plastic flat head screw)) Pop those clips and remove that cover. after u removed it, u should see the ECU. unbolt it from it's bracket. plug out the old ECU and plug in the new ECU. put everything back together.

unplug the batter first though. Start the car afterwards and let it idle for 10-15 minutes for the ECU to relearn your car.

to reset the codes on the car i looked in my "HAYNES" book and they says: when the PMC sets a trouble code, the CHECK engine light will come on and a trouble code will be stored in the memory. the trouble code will stay in the PMC memory until the voltage to the PMC is interrupted. to clear the memory, remove the BACK-UP fuse from the fuse/relay box located in the right side of the engine compartment for at least ten seconds NOTE: unplugging the BACK-UP fuse also cancels the radio preset stations and the clock settings. be sure yo make note of the various radio stations that are programmed into the memory before removing the fuse.
