Default obd1 motor opposed too....

hey does anyone know or have an idea

if you took a obd1 h22
and then a obd2 h22 with a harness converting to obd1

if there would be a power diff?

man the obd-II motor is a weak block, its cast open deck, the H22a1 is not its closed deck

this is actually a question that has not been discussed alot in this forum....
OBDI -allows for more modification to fuel/air setups
OBDII- tighter emissions restrictions that does not set itself well for modifcation

actually do me a favor and dont tell me to search for things that arent there the only thing refering to an open deck is an s2000 post.

and i answer my own questions:

Open Deck - Any block in which around the cylnder bore there is deep ring around the bore's i believe the rings are called water jackets but im not sure

Closed Deck - Is just a block with out the water jackets around the bore.

Ill post a pic if anyone whos learning wants one

Yeap, but I wonder what those OBD II to I harnesses do. I doubt they can make an OBD II ECU as mod-friendly as an OBD I one.

i thought the whole idea behind the harness was that you originally obd2 car now used and obd1 ECU rendering the obd2 sensors non active such alowing better performance for mods..

Oh oh oh I didn't realize an OBD I ECU was used. I thought it somehow used an OBD II ECU and motor and made it function like OBD I... or something.
