Default Crank Position Sensor!! Effect Start up??

I am throwing a code 4, in my 96 coupe with 98 gsr motor. It's running in obdI from the skunk2 OBDII to OBDI harness, and it also has hondata. It will not start up, but if I put some gas into the intake manifold it fires right up and will idle all day, it breaks up when you rev it and wants to dies when you open the gas too much. Can the sensor for crank position sensor in the distributor cause this?????

..Don't know if this helps but I had a starting problem with a late 80's Chevy. Replaced crank counter/sensor - problem solved.

code 4 should be in the dizzy,
code 54 is the crank fluctuation sensor thats the sensor at the crank pulley. i think you have a dizzy issue.

Well guys I just had this problem last Sunday on my 93 si with ls swap. I tried everything..(changed ecu's...everything)...I also was running MSD ignition....come to find out one of the wires inside my dizzy had snapped and so i spliced it and reconnected it and its working fine now.

Dunno if this will help ya'll but thats what my problem was.....Just pull dizzy cap off and check all your wires.
