How much did it cost to have your car painted?
I'm looking into having my car repainted in the upcoming months, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
1. can anyone recommend a good paint shop?
2. How much did yours cost you (dosen't matter where.)
3. Does it cost more to have it painted a different color, or a different shade of the same color?

Painting prices vary depending on:
1. Color
2. Damage to vehicle
3. Location of damage to vehicle
4. Size of vehicle
5. Single stage, 2 coat, or tri coat.
6. Inside and out (in doors and under hood)
7. Whether or not the shop actually takes off doors, hood, bumpers, and trunk to spray.
8. Brand of paint.
Those are some of the more important questions that need to be answered when painting a vehicle.

No damage to vehicle, not removing things, just and outside spray. something like the escalade white color. I was thinking around $1k?

it cost me around $600 on my old car too, but i went through a 'budget' body shop that used maaco style techniques to save cost (taping parts instead of removing them). it turned out looking pretty nice, i was impressed how good of a job they did from just taping. in the future though, i would rather invest in a paint job done right with quality paint. the 'good' shops gave me estimates ranging from $900-1600 for the whole car, no body work, just sanded down and repainted (i had an EF). i live in va (as if it wasn't obvious

The Escalade white color is a tri coat. Its white base with a pearl mid and clear coat. Thatll run you somewhere around $1300 at least.
I actually co-own a bodyshop.

thanks man. What colors would you recommend, maybe a little easier on the wallet, I'm not sure what I want.

White was a good idea. Just not pearl white. Try and stay away from any pearl colors because they tend to be tri-coats.
Although that Cadillac color is quite kick ***.

Not exactly my style but I know it wont be easy to repaint that sucker. If you put any real auto paint over that krylon stuff youll regret it within 1 year.
