My windows suck!! Please help me out, would ya?
Alright, here's the problem. I was cleaning my car the other day and i go to put the windows up to windex them, and my passenger side window does not work. I checked both switches, niether one would do it. i checked the fuses and the relays and they were fine. So I began taking the passenger door apart. I checked all the conections and wires and everything apears to be fine. I tested both switches and they both work perfectly. I also found out that the motor works fine, and there is power going to the right-hand door. Everything, besides the passenger side switch, is working fine on the left-hand side too. Also the wires from the passenger side switch to the motor are working fine. My only guess is that it's somehow the switch mechanically isn't working, but still passed the continuity test.
Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this? please help me if you can, it really sucks not having a window, or a door panel on that side. TIA

LMFAO!!!
On the drivers side window switch, just above the window switches, there is a rocker switch that, for child protection, turns OFF the passenger side window.

hey *******, i'm not an idiot. I know about the child lock. i've checked every possible thing i can think of. I know i didn't mention the lock in my original post because i can't think of anyone who would be ignorant enough to go through all of that, without checking that out first. The main reason i came to this board was because of the lack of *********, so let's keep it that way alright.
now, does anyone want to actually try and give me a hand and give me an actual suggestion?

All right, enough name calling, eh?
About your window problem: You say that the motor works. Is it actually turning when you hit the switch? If that's the case, I would look for a broken drive gear. If the motor is turning and it is in fact trying to move the window, but the window won't budge, then look at the slides to make sure everything is lubricated and aligned.

the motor doesn't turn when the switch is engaged. the motor can be turned on and it actually works and runs the window up and down, when the switch is bypassed, but only from the right side. still the switch somehow passed the continuity test. i'm completely stumped.
and as to the name calling thing. I'm not really mad at anyone. it just amazes me sometimes howa good 5-8 different people will reply without even trying to give a helpful suggestion. anyway thanks. keep em coming.

I know it was blatently obvious to some, but it might not have been to others.
Check the voltage coming out of the switch with the switch in the on position, that will tell you if the swich is bad.

i haven't had time to check that and i won't be able to for awhile. I'm leaving town tomorrow, for christmas. i ran a continuity test on the switch and that checked out ok, but i honestly don't know. i'll look into the voltage thing when i get back. thanks for your polite help and concern though
