It depends on how much boost you are planning on running?
If its between 6-10 Psi then your fine with the stock motor. TURBO KIT

Tunning becomes your best friend there you can run low pounds of boost and still blow **** up but on the other hand you could run up to 15psi (Not daily driven) on a good tune and you would be fine. You dont need to build the block but its definetly a really good idea down the road. 6-8psi daily driven on a really good tune you would be golden.

Rods and pistons and maybe a blockguard. that should be plenty for your goals.

well do a compression check and see what kind off shape current motor is in.if good a say boost(tune) up to your 10lbs max and just drive it with stock internals.other than the first week or so ,you shouldnt be in boost during daily driving.just because its 10lbs doesnt mean youll use it while you drive . my friends be running 7 to 8 lbs on his 00 si for over a year and his car has same compression as before the turbo set up.he also just has bigger fuel pump and fmu .and everything else is stock . hope this helps . good luck
