Default $3800 to spend, buy pre-fab kit or piece together?

I'm really at a crossroads right now as far as modding my engine and I did some thinking with my friends today. By saving the money I would spend on expensive intakes and manifolds, I would actually have enough to turbo my car.

I have been looking into different kits and I've began to be fond of the Lovefab manifold and the various Precision turbos. I feel like for the amount of boost I want to run that a larger turbo and equal length manifold will make more power until I can afford an engine build.

There are some deals running on the RevHard kits where I can drop $3250 and get a Stage 2 Revhard kit with Hondata S200B, 440 or 550 Rc's, and boost gauge. I would rather piece together my own kit, but which would be better for the money I have?

If anyone thinks that I should piece together my own kit, make suggestions on parts and things. The engine is a stock internal b20/vtec with the exception of ARP rod bolts, head studs and a Golden Eagle headgasket. I don't even plan on running anything more than 10 psi, but I would like to make some power when doing it.

So, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to blow anything up haha. Thanks guys.

Zach

Piece it together. YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT INSTEAD OF WHAT THEY GIVE YOU IN A TURBO KIT SYSTEM. Plus, for just the same amount of money... you can actually get a larger turbine, bigger FMIC, a nicer wastegate, and still have enough left for other components.

Full-Race kit. Their IC setup is freaking awsome you only have to run 2 charge pipes because of the back door intercooler.

But is it even possible to get a Full Race kit for 3800 dollars? Last time I checked, those kits were like... 4k+. I guess I will have to check the website.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, keep them coming. I need all the opinions I can get!

ok, so I just found out that the stage 2 goes for less than what I have to spend so I'm pretty sure that's what we'll be goin with.

Does anyone have any experience with Full Race kits?

As always...unless you plan on buying a Full-Race kit, I would piece your own together. This is merely my opinion though.

I spent about that on my pieced together kit. But it wasn't like taking the hit all at once, I bought the parts over time, and borrowed money from my mom lol.
So if you have the $$ lying around, just go spend it with full-race, and on engine managment/tuning.
