advice and questions
Extremely new to welding and dont know a thing. i have 2 choices i got to my local community center and take a 8 week course for $250 and they teach me the basic's or go to a credited school for a year and a half and get my full welding liscence and card?I want to start making intercooler's this is why i need to know how to weld.Trying to get enough info before i start what kind of welder would weld an intercooler and end tanks?
u need a tig welder with AC. most (if not all) intercoolers are aluminum. or you could use a mig with AC i suppose. my suggestion would be to take the 8 week course first. you can test it out to see if u like it. if you do then take the other course. if you dont like it, do something else. but i'm guessing the credited course costs a lot more and if you dont like it then youre screwed. i'm taking non-credit welding courses right now. i was new to welding also and i basically passed all the tests half way through the classes. it was supposed to be an arc and oxy-ace course but now i am doing mig and tig. theres other people that have spent 18 hours just trying to lay a decent bead. some people just dont have the ability to weld with their hand-eye coordination. its good to take an arc course first because you get to know the basics. its easier and you get the feel for welding

Yes I do, after rereading what I said it does sound wrong.

I knew what you meant.
I remove the winshield and cut holes in the floor and drop the cage down , that allows me to get all the way around to weld the downtubes to the halo.
the attachment plates cover up the holes in the floor by design.
