will this welder work?
okay, basically, i wanted to build a rollcage for my integra using chromoly...would this welder work? http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr...69000 Now, the reason i want this welder is that it bascially comes with everything i need, and uses a standard 120v outlet...oh, and its cheap 
...but i really dont know much about chromoly, so would this welder work? would i have to use gas, or would it depend on the thickness of the tubing? or do i need a tig for that kind of work? TIA...

you dont know about Chromoly ? and you want to use it in your cage ?
you dont want to mig moly , and frankly I dont think you really need to use moly.
is this just for bragging rights ?

You'd be best off to check with whatever sanctioning body you're looking to enter this car with first.
Still, you can MIG Chromoly, many manufacturers do, but of course you will get better results eith TIG.
That machine would work in theory, but I'd recommend adding gass and going with solid-core wire. I've done a good deal of 1/8 in thick, 1 in diameter tubing on a similar machine (a hobart handler) and it's a bit of a pain in the ***.
