Won't flash start anymore..
I have to hold the key for 2 secs in order for my H22 lude to start on the first try. If I try to start it normal on the first attempt it won't start but it would always flash start on the second attempt. This happens hot/warm/cold. Any ideas?
2 secs is a long time to hold the key. Makes my car seem older than it is.

How come? Is swings ok. If so why start on the second attempt?

I tried that several times. I also have a fuel pressure gauge and it pressurises the system as usual (before I had the problem) on ignition. Any other ideas?

Doubt that it would be related to your starter, espescially if it actually turns the motor over everytime you turn the key...
...my guess would either be with 98TypeSH - let the fuel pump prime the system, or it could be that you need to replace the distributor cap/rotor, plugs, plug wires. When's the last time you've had these replaced (or had a tune up?)
Of course, 2 seconds really isn't THAT detrimental...

It could be the fuel pump, especially if he is low on gas. But if it's not that, then it could be the starter. I had similiar problem on my old civic. Replaced the starter and it started like new!

Let it turn over for two seconds before it starts. It allows the oil pump to pressurize the engine before it's running.
Toyotas are built that way. Honda may have designed the ECU to do the same thing on initial start
