Default Is this clutch worth the $$?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33730

I will be puttin down between 300-400whp i figure at full boost. This is a daily driver so i need a clutch that can handle the max power, yet also be easy enough to drive daily, at a lower boost setting.

Is this clutch and flywheel gonna hold up?

Damn, a $498 buy it now price? That's kinda steep for what seems like a pretty much stock-level clutch.

Look into ACT. Their kits are cheaper and probably better than that no-name one on Ebay. (EDIT: Didn't notice the Ebay one was a Clutchmasters)

With your power, you can probably go with ACT's Extreme Pressure plate mated with their street disc. If you're feeling adventurous, try their Heavy Duty PP (less harsh than the Extreme), but with the unsprung pucked discs they have.

The pucked kits start at about $320, while the sprung kits are a little more.

i have a full clutchmaster stg 3 with 7.5 pound flywheel complete setup but damit the disc is for 90-91 trannys and b16 cable, andive moved on from cable but clutchmaster is good stuff, get atleast a stage 2 for all your power, maybe stage 3 if you can handle it you might also want to get a sprung clutch

whats the difference in a sprung and unsprung clutch?

My mechanic said stage 3 isnt really streetable, stage 2 is really expensive, can a stage 1 really not hold like 370whp?

Thanks for the info my budget is $400 for clutch AND flywheel

The difference between the sprung and unsprung clutch is this. You know the parts of the clutch, right? The disc is the one that takes all the "abuse." The part that wears down, right?

Well that part, most of the time, has springs on it. Like in your picture. See the little springs? When there are springs on it, it allows the driver to more easily "slip and feather" the clutch. So you can ease into gear.

When there are no springs on it, you can't really do that. In essence, it's basically fully disengaged or fully engaged. It's quite rough if you don't get the hang of it. This is why most people who HAVEN'T driven on it (like your mechanic probably) say it's not streetable. Get used to it, and pretty much any clutch is streetable. Just ask yourself, do you mind if there is a little chatter/squeak upon engagement and shifting.

I had an ACT 4 puck disc mated with their Heavy Duty pressure plate. It was fine for me even though everyone said it wasn't streetable.
