Tranny swap for '02 Hx Civic
I've got an '02 civic Hx with the long gas saver gearing, and the clutch is on it's way out after 2 autocross seasons. I really need to get more pull off the corners on track and with my gears being sooo long (redline in 2nd = 72mph) I figure if I'm not going to get much more power out of the engine I might as well make it's job easier. sooo...
I've got a line on an all but new '02 Ex tranny and want to swap in the short(er) Ex box (after a thorough going over) while the clutch and flywheel are being done and I've got a couple of questions:
1. Is it going to throw off my speedo and if so what do I need to do to get it correct?
2. Are there any technical things I need to know (or should tell the mechanic) about before changing trannys? all the bolts are the same, wires, mounting points etc?
Thanks in advance!
