Default Can u have detonation, when running rich?

I advanced my spark timing, and now when i go full throttle at a low rpm i can hear a sound like small rocks hitting my exhaust. It could just be a rattle. The thing my air/fule gauge shows a stoich/rich mixture. I am running a hondata tuned B18C 10.5:1 JRSC at 11 psi. Also would increasing the fuel pressure at the regulator have any effect on the detonation?

advancing the timing can cause detonation. dont blow up ur b18c1 get a wideband and some real tuning equipment.

Those little rocks are the sound of detonation. Don't push your car when you hear this noise. Just get a wideband and do some tuning. Unless you dont care and want to blow your motor.

ok but is there any way to get rid of detonation with my timing advance, because my car runs much better this way. What will increasing the fuel pressure do>? Or should i just keep backing the timing down untill the detonation goes away. thanks

too much timing and you will kill your motor.

very very true.

in all honesty you might have to loose a little performance to gain the reliablity and comfort to not blow your motor. advanced timing + over 10:1 comp + supercharger = not a lot of room for error.

because of the extremely hot intake temps of the charger at 11 psi your not going to be able to run that much timing especially with only 93 or even 94 octane. (if u only got 91 im surprised ur even running 11lbs.

If u wanna run more timing you could try droping to 9 lbs, or try water injection or something to cool down the temps. The air is just too hot coming out of that charger when its making 11lbs.
