just completed a b20/vtec into a 95 gsr.....98 block with a 1st gen b16 head...reused everything from the gsr..tranny...some sensors..alternator..etc...the problem is when i test drove hte car right after the swap(i double checked everything..oil..anti-freeze..etc..everything was fine)...it didnt wanna accelerate..i could drive it but even when i have the gas pedal all the way down it would not make a difference it would just slowly very slowly increase the speed..its like that in every gear....also when i give it gas i could hear like a taping noise(i was told i needed a valve job)...any ideas what the problem could be??...i know someone had this same problem before..please anyone any idea at all just let me know....i really dont know what to check at this point....no check engine light but it did come on at one point when i tried to rev it up real high in first gear but then i shut off the engine and it went away...oil light is on but there is oil....also when i let off the gas and in neutral it idles real low then picks back up....it also idles a little lower then normal...please please please..help me out....

It kinda also sounds the same as mine. I needed a valve adjustment performed because my motor was yielding low compression in all cylinders. After the adjustment was done, then the idle had to be adjusted on my throttle body for it to not rev up high and then sound like it wants to die when idle returns to low rpm. Next thing was that the oil light did stay on for some odd reason. However, it was OK after replacing the pump on it- not to say it's the same scenario as yours. Oil light measures oil pressure by the way, not the amount of oil. But before doing anything else, have a leakdown and compression test done on your car for clearer results. You may be able to troubleshoot from their.
