cAR PROBLEM ..HELLLLPPPPPPPP PLEASE!!!!
OK GUYS..I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR..
ITS IDLES VERY LOW AND SOMETIMES IT JUMPS WHEN IT IDLES LOW.
WHEN DRIVING IT SEEMS LIKE IT CHOKING ON GAS WHEN YOU LET THE GAS PEDAL GO AND PRESS BACK ON...
THE OTHER DAY THE I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF SUDDEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST CAME ON AND WAS IDLING HIGH LIKE AT 1 AND HALF ALMOST 2.
WHEN THAT HAPPEN WHILE SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS.. THE RPM GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN AND CHOKES AND THEN BURST WITH GAS...
SO CAN IT BE THE TIMING OR DISTRIBUTOR... HELP ME PLEASE...

what motor and have you done anything to it aftermarket wise or touched anything?
and your description needs to be a little better....does it bog out,die, seem as if it has no *****...explain with better words
what codes did it throw at u for the check engine light? if u have looked... u should check that out... i had the same problem with my car... it said i was missing in cylinder 1. so i changed plugs and wires and it seems to be running fine.... so i would change spark plugs and get some new wires. if that does fix it try getting a new cap and rotor... lmk if that helps.

i've asked a buddy about it and he said it could be timing.. so i check the cams..and its off by like teeth so im thinking its timing..im going to get that done and see what happens from there... hope it all goes well..since this weather is too cold..haha..

ok..one more thing..
the distributor cap is kind of loose ..but its barly is..
can that cause it too??
i just want to check out all the small problem first before i start getting into the bigger problem..
i've changed spark plugs already..its just a little bit better not alot tho..

could be plugs, wires, cap, rotor, injector clips, injecors, bad sensors, maybe something is tight like your cap lol.
if you pull one wire off of your spark plugs at a time leaving 3 on while idling. the car should bog down, if there is no difference in sound, or whatever you notice, you have a dead cylinder which means your either getting low or no compression or there is no fuel getting to that one
hopefully this helps. worst case scenario is you dropped a cylinder and time for rebuild or new motor

but i checked the cam on the timing belt and its off by a teeth..
so even tho its like that .. it can still be the cylinder??

what have you all tried? another problem could be the fuel pump but doubt it would do that, what motor do you have? and what are the mods. that would help out alot
mods??? no mods.just a short ram intake..its a 98 Ls motor in a 93 sol

also ..it gives this choking kind of like when im driving it.. i know its not the fuel pump..
sometimes the check engine light comes on.. but i just turn the car off and turn it back on and its gone.. .
also on 1st and 2nd gear while on low rpm say around 1 to 2k ..the car jerks and i have to step on the clutch to stop ..it only does this sometimes tho.. and idels really low sometimes too..like 200 to 900 it doesnt stay but its seaches up and down..

it could be your tps, map, or a vaccum sensor. turning off the car will only erase the problem for about one or two days, go to an auto parts store and do a diagnostic test, they should give you the code for what exactly is wrong. if you fix that problem adn it still does it. do whati told you with the wires, and change your cap.
lol, idk how it is in minnesota but autozone can only do obd2, but like oreilly and other places can do obd1. if you cant find anyone to do it. go buy or rent a diagnostic computer its like 80 bucks
ok .this is what i've done..
all i did this weekend was changed the oil.. and right now its run pretty good ..without the idling problem .no choking..what the hell is going on..lol..
if it start doing it again i'll let ya know..hopefully it doesnt ..
