IBTL

Each station has its own octane rating. 76 has 87, 89, and 91 Others have 92

Use whatever gas you like.

the question is, does your motor need premium unleaded fuel?

Most stations in a given area use the same gasoline, just with a different additive package.

As for octane rating, in a stock engine use whatever the manufacturer specifies. If your engine's manufacturer only requires 87 octane, then it can safely run without detonation on 87 octane, and using a higher octane fuel is just a waste of money. Be grateful that you can actually run the inexpensive fuel. If your engine requires 91 octane, then use 91 to avoid detonation.

All stock or lightly modded D-series engines run fine on 87. DOHC VTEC engines require a minimum of 91.

If you have significantly advanced timing, internal engine modifications that involve high compression, and/or have power adders (including turbo, supercharger or nitrous) then you should use premium fuel as a precaution.

ls engines run perfect on 87 and running a little higher octane can give you better gas millage
