I don't understand, you want to run straight pipe with an axle back, but isn't straight back without an axle back?

No I'm assuming he wants to run it without a cat or resonator. The answer was already posted...do it and find out

I have 2 friends that have done this, both remained pretty quiet. The twinloop really drops the noise quite a bit, even without a cat.

Rodrez-O-lantern!!! Ha!!!! Pretty funny.

As for the TL w/o a cat, just run your damn cat. It's not worth the extra 3 hp you'll get to be a gross polluter.

Not having a cat will not give you three horsepower. If you just have a gutted cat with an open chamber you might lose power. The lack of a resonater will have the most effect on how it will sound. As was said, give it a try and then tell us.

I did this for a while, but I was running rich. All the extra fule trapped in the muffler packing burnt it up. The car got pretty damned loud after a while.

The exhaust in the end will still vent exhaust gasses as fast as its can will allow it to.
