springs totally compressed under weight of car??? WTF???
I went to adjust my NEX coilovers today because snow is coming and winter is unofficially here and much to my surprise after taking off the wheel the suspension's spring was almost totally compressed... hmmm... wasn't like this last time i looked at them (when i installed them about a month or two ago)... although the car has always been slammed and has always ridden like ****, i guess right now it's riding on the internal bumpstops...
so you'd think that if the shock was blown, the spring still wouldn't get all compressed like that?
I think maybe the spring is fucked... I'll take it all apart tomorrow and maybe that'll show me something...
so anyone able to help me figure out what's going on?
thanks.

struts only help dampen the bumps and smooth the ride. even without a strut your spring would still compress the same as with a strut. I woul say you got a badspring or they are just weak springs.

you can get rubber spring spacers at any autoparts store to put between the coils if you have to. it will help support the spring, i wouldnt use it as a perminant solution to your problem though.
