There has been confusion as to how to remove a layer. Risking a flaming for not searching, could you tell us how? Are the dowel pins sufficent to align it?

Just wondering how you took out the middle layer. I've heard it is easy enough just remove the copper rings remove the middle silver layer and use the other to pieces. Is this all you did on yours? I'm considering this option instead of milling my cylinder head. Also anyone have any pics?

thats all i did. the little copper rings that hold it together are pretty soft, and come out easily. ull the layers apart and pull the silver one out. i copper sprayed mine.

make sure your hands are clean, and the needle nose pliers are in good shape

just pry up the sides of the copper ring, its super soft, remove middle layer and install it like you would any other head gasket

I ran jdm itr 11.1 cr pistons in my itr motor with a 2 layer gasket and toda b cams.. Never had any issues with valve to piston at all.
I've removed the top layer and also the middle on different motors.(not at the same time )

Pretty much it, it's not brain surgery or anything! Just make sure you use new Head studs and lube them before you put them in and torque them down! Use the proper pattern, torque in a 2-step method to the right specs and you should be good!
