Default Boost with VERY large TB/IM

I have a 74/67mm tapered TB that is joined to a fully ported AEBS manifold on my b16...

It turns out that I want to boost....will this help or hinder? I want to run about 7-8 psi only...thinking either a 16g, 18g, or maybe a T3/T4.....

I was just thinking that since the TB is 74mm (2.9 in), my charge piping would have to be 3''.....would this affect turbo spool up time? What diameter should I make my IC piping?

Make it 3", smooth out the flow. I highly doubt you would notice any difference in spool going from 2.5" to 3". We just switched from an air/air front mount intercooler to a water/air intercooler mounted behind the passenger seat (yes, where the back seat normally goes) in his mustang, and it is basically impossible to tell any difference in spool, even though we added SEVERAL feet of additional piping to the system.

Motor setup is nothing much, stock bore/stroke R-block 302, a carburetor, PT74, and a 5-speed.

It's not my car. It made over 700 RWHP before ending the pass at 4500 RPM's because it was going lean last year. Probably gonna make over 900 this year.
