I have a b16a3 that my bro hydrolocked a few years back.

I wanted an LS for turbo, but I figure, I could have my free b16 built for either n/a or turbo for the same price or maybe a little more.

My question is, if I have the b16 built for low compression (turbo-friendly), how much power should i expect to lose? I MIGHT not get the turbo right away, and so I want a good decent power while I'm driving around n/a.

Will I still feel the vtec kick in with the lowered compression? will there be considerable power in VTEC even though i lowered the compression to say..9.0:1?

Any idears>?

 

i have only one thing to say. patience is key. when building your "turbo-friendly" motor, you will most likely lose a bunch of power without the snail on, but when you put it on is when it counts. just wait for the turbo and then no1 can **** with you, and thats what you want right? haha. meanwhile i know of no problems with driving around on a N/A turbo setup, other than it will probably be dog slow (however i have no first hand experience with that) good luck and keep my updated because im thinking about doing the same thing due to lack of funds.
