Default Reving Idle

My 1998 Honda Accord V-6 Just this morning began to idle oddly. At first, I drove about half a mile to a stop light, I noticed that with my foot on the brake it was "pulling" forward like it really wanted to go or as if part of my foot was on the gas. As soon as the green light came it indeed took off rather quickly. I went maybe another quarter mile and then turned off, pulling into a parking lot I noticed that with my foot off the accelerator I was moving faster than normal. I put the car in park and it began to evenly rev all by it's self from it's normal 800 to around 1500, every 1-1 and a half seconds. I turned the car off, waited a moment and then started it back up. It was fine until I got back to about half way home when I realized that it was a bit higher of a RPM than normal for the speed of 45mph. It wasn't erradic just constant. Pulling in to drive way and putting the car back in park it start to rev by itself again. The only mod I have on the car is an aftermarket intake, it is going in to my dealership in a couple months for the scheduled timing belt and additional maintanence checks at it's 105,000. I have always had the dealership service the car for check lights and oil changes, but have never had a major problem. The car isn't making any other noises no smoke, no other problems just this. What in the world is it, and what do I do? Any helpm would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

most commonly it seems to be a dirty iacv, tps, or vacuum problem.

Hey, Thanks alot for the help, as I said I am new to all of the mod scene, just a $30.00 cold air intake so far, there aren't really a whole lot of options with this accord (6 cyl) anyway! But as far as ripping the stuff down and cleaning where do I start? Do you mean the vacum lines on the intake? I apologize for the ignorance with the matter but I am new to all of this and sometimes the abbreviations you guys are used to throws me off a bit. Any help again is extremely appreciated!

i assume toab is talking about either cleaning the filter or the throttle body. But, with my question (sorry to highjack) i know there's nothing that really needs cleaning becasue it might be pretty warm one day and it won't rev, but then the next day, if it's sufficiently cold, it will do the reving thing. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the cold but i don't know why.

To add validity to what you are saying, it was cold here today, first time of the year. But my car has never done this before ever in the past 4 years I've had it. I drive it year round and last winter we had days in the negative teens, like -15 F, I don't know why it would do it this year on a day that was only around 45 F. This is the first cold temperatures that I have not had the stock air intake though and wonder if that may have something to do with it. I just hope that after it goes in for the timing belt, plugs, belts, and all that at the dealership that it will be good to go for a long while. I have been very lucky so far with nothing (knock on wood) having gone seriously wrong. Again I thank you guys for the help, I was going crazy today until I found this site and you guys for the help.
