Default f-series crank into k24?

I read somewhere that you could destroke a k24 (like the a2 variant in the TSX) w/ an f-series crankshaft, particularly the s2000 crank, facilitating higher redline and such....is this a load of bs? or is it possible/worth doing? Also, would an f-series crank be a better destroking option than using a k20 crankshaft? Thanks for the help.

I have not heard anything like this. But given the fact that the F-series S2000 motor is basically a K-series motor, it could be a possibility. As for using the K20 vs F20 crank, the K20 crank would give you slightly more displacement due to its slightly longer stroke (86mm vs 85mm). And this WILL work. Another interesting possibility is the use of the newer 2.2 liter crank from the newer S2000 models. Again, I am not sure this would work, though.

Interesting. Never knew it was possible. Doesn't sound right.

its possible - but no one has done this to my knowledge (yet) at least had a motor last (I have heard this set up creates major reliability issues)

K20a crank (86mm) would destroke the K24 block to just above ~2044cc (not worth it k20 is 1996cc)

F22c (90.7mm) crank would destroke to approximately ~2140cc
F20c has a 84mm stroke

this has been covered before
see

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=913186
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=822723

BTW its not just the stroke of the k24 (99mm) but the length rods too (very long) which (stroke & rod length) kill the reliability of this motor to be a high reving motor b/c of piston speed

I apologize for not letting this die (if it ticks someone off) but I thought I would post some useful info

although 215 whp & over 181 lb/ft of tq on the dyno is pretty impressive for a k24a2 (TSX) powered RSX - see https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1058213 with much more power available with more tuning & parts...my guess is in the near future we will see the magic 300 whp & 200 lb/ft of tq
