headlights?
I have headlights that use h3 halogen bulbs for low beams and h1 for high. I needed something brighter so I've been at my local pep boys but they dont carry h3 silverstars. Is it possible to convert h3 to h1 considering that the outside of the bulb is the same but the middle connector is different. H3 has the wire coming out and h1 has just a male connector. Can I just fabricate a female to female connector and hook up an H1 in an H3 socket? thanks

If you're that set on something brighter get PIAA's, or depending on your budget, HID's. I wouldn't mess with fabricating light sockets, you don't want to cause a fire in your engine bay

I have some Farenheit bulbs and they are brighter than stock and white not yellow like stock bulbs but not the stupid blue ricer look either. I like them a lot. They are definately a lot better than stock. I haven't had them that long though so I don't know how long they will last. They don't seem to reflect off rain and stuff like the cheap blue ones do. I have also tried the Eurolite ones and they were as bright or maybe a little brighter but not much just even whiter. The Farenheit ones may have a little yellow if you look at the right angle but not much and maybe a hint of blue but I can't see it some sites just say they have a hint of blue. I don't want blue but can't stand the yellow and these are perfect. The Eurolite ones I had are also awesome and my high beams have lasted over a year but I tried 2 sets of the low beams and they both burnt out within 2 months. I didn't like those at all because of that and I haven't had the FArenheit ones even a month yet so I don't know how they will last. I am not using H3 though I am using stock bulb sizes.
my guess is that you've picked up some aftermarket projector headlights... if that's the case, you're not going to get much light output of them. if you managed to get the h1 bulb to work in a h3 socket, you're going to have a horrible beam pattern due to the positioning of the bulb, and also because the projectors themselves on those aftermarket headlights are pretty bad when it comes to focusing the light.
in any case, if you try it, you're going to want to make sure that the filament of the modified h1 bulb lines up with the filament of the h3 bulb (when installed).

yeah these are horrible aftermarket projectors. The guy that I had bought the car from had put them in so ive had problems with them from day one. I've been looking to replace them but i didnt want to spend a lot in doing so, so i thought the cheapest way to get atleast some light out of them so I can see without having to blind people with my high beams was to get some silverstar bulbs.

I like my stock headlights and personally on this car well the 5th Generation anyway I think the stock headlights look better than the aftermarket projectors or any headlights I have seen other than the Integra style that you paint around the two lights I like those and the stock ones but other than those I don't like aftermarket headlights on the Accords Especially 5th Gen. I don't really like them on the 6th either but one the 7th Gen I do like some aftermarket ones better.
ok new question, i found stock housings for $80 with the corners and i was thining of getting them and putting them in for better lighting. The only problem is they dont come with wiring and all i have is these aftermarket wires for this set of headlights with the h3 for low and h1 for high. Im not sure but i thought the stock were 9006 for low and h3 for high. The question is how would i go about wiring in the stock headlights? Would i have to get stock connectors from somewhere? or can i just go to like a local car parts store and pick up connectors to solder in? thanks
The stock ones are 9005 for high beams and 9006 for low beam atleast on a 5th Generation anyway I would assume on other years also. Someone posted a site on here that sold bulbs one time that also sold wiring harnesses but these were with thicker wire meant to run the 80W bulbs without damaging them and they were like $20 for each so $40 for high and low beam. I also thought someone said they picked up a normal one for the regular bulbs for like $6 at Pep Boy's but I'm not sure.
its a 95 2door lx thanks for the info, so im thinking ill buy these and get the wire harnesses from pepboys for 9005 and 9006 bulbs and that should get me a lot more light than i have on these horrible projectors. Thanks again everyone for all the help!
Ok if it is a 5th Gen the lights are 9006 for the low beams and 9005 for the high beams. I personally like the look of the stock headlights appearance wise a lot. I can't say the same for the corner lights but if you put clear corners on them I think the whole light assembly looks great. I haven't tried projectors on this car so I don't know how the difference light wise is but articles say stock head light housings are much better. I personally like them I just wish the low beam looked like the high beams but they are better than many other cars I have driven with. I have put a Eurolite Super Plasma high beam bulb in and a Farenheit low beam bulb in and they arnt blue and don't reducue the light output like some of them do and it helps even more. I had the Eurolite as low beams also but they burnt out every 2 months give or take a few days. I tried more than 1 set. The highbeams have lasted over a year *knock on wood* and they both improve the light over the stock light. I would probably put a set of good bulbs in there I like these and the Silverstars personally. I definately would put the stock headlight housings back on.
