Default Question for those of you with A/C and Turbo

I've seen some people wrap wwhat looks like aluminum foil around one of the A/C lines

does that help to reduce heat on the line?

if thats what it's for, is there sum'n else you can get that looks nicer than that?

It deflects and reduces heat. And its not really aluminum foil its a roll of tape or a sleeve that you buy to put over the lines.

is that sleeve the only way about it? is it necessary?
