Default Gauges

I can't quite figure out how to put in these reverse glow gauges I got. I searched and found nothing, any help at all would be appreciated. All who insult me, will be frowned upon...

1) take apart gauge cluster all that crap. there are 3 brass screws in the way back. disconnect the harnesses and crap on the back then unsrew those 3 screws.
2) Unsnap the plastic cover, then work your way to the black cover thing right on top of the gauges
3)After everything is out get some doubled side scotch tape and put it on the back of the gauges.
4) slide gauges over originals very carefully making sure the needles dont move. remember where the gas needle was because you will move it
5) um then you might have to bend those lil tabs so they not in the way then you might have to cut a whole into the plastic part so theres room for the wires to come up.
6) attach the connectors to the connectors attached to that box thingy.
7) Pop out the harness for the dimmer on the lights and take it out
8)splice your red your into the red/black wire.
9) splice black into black(ground)
10) plug in on/off switch and bring it under the cluster
11) think thats about it
12) this is off of the top of my drunken head

Its cake...
1. First take off the black plastic in front of your gauges (2 screws up top) then pry it out.. it should pop out.
2. Take out the 3 screws holding in the gauges (top and two sides) be careful not to let them slip into nothingness behind your dash.
3.Unplug the harness's from the back (theres like 3 of em)
4. Take out the 3 small *** screws in the back of the harness.. they are recessed quite a bit.
5.You can now remove the clear plastic lens (carefully)
6.Good good, now take off the black one.. I turn it upside down and start with the bottom ones first.. it usually pops out easier that way.
7.Yer pretty much there... you can slide the gauges over your stock ones. You need to run the wires though the back of the gauges. You can see and empty spot that you can pull them threw at the top. Its covered by small plastic bars. You can just cut those out.
8.* I would put some super glue on the OEM gauge faces, then press your new ones on top. The reason is.. if they aren't glues down they get in the way of your needles and then the needles dont work correctly. Another tip.. to sliding your gauges over your needles... GO SLOW.. also if you grab the outter edges abd bend them upwards it makes it easier.
9. Ok so yer gauges are pretty much set... now the harness
10.I think there is only two wires.. splice that into the yellow and black wire coming out of the back of you gauges. I believe it is the one that was connected to the righthand side. Power is yellow/ground is black.
11. If I remember correctly thats it... run your switch behind the dash and then pull it back under. Hook up your **** and put all yer screws in.

Personally, I wouldn't hook em up! I've done it before (as you can tell) and those indiglow and reverse style always burn out. Not one person I know has said they lasted for a decent amount of time. But good luck to ya.. hope this helped some.

ONE MORE NOTE....

per the other guys advice...

I agree:

. U can use double sided tape. Downside.. if it gets really hot outside, sometimes it doesnt hold. But you can take off yer gauges alot easier then if you glue them

I disagree:
. Never splice into your dimmer switch. You're going to need a constant power source. Splicing it into your d switch could short out thangs.

. Feel free to move the needles. Dont break em... but you can move them. Moving them is the only way to get your new gauges one. The gas... move that all around.. its on a sensor it doesn't matter if you leave it on Full when you only have 1/2 a tank. As soon as you plug it in, the sensor will read 1/2 take and reset it for you.

Sorry not to cap on the other dude.. but I just saw what he wrote. Hey he said he was drunk.. maybe he got confused.
