Default Brian Beckman's The Physics of Racing

as i pull up honda-tech.com my two times daily (at the least), i always see some post of some itr owner, or any other car owner, having crashed their car. the very same topic comes up; it seems as though the concensus with front wheel drive cars is to complete your "braking segment" before your turn-in.

well, i did a nifty search on http://www.google.com (a great site for anything you wanna research) on the topic of "trail braking" (saw some one use this term on another thread) and came up with a very well organized site. the author seems to know what he's talking about from what little i've been able to read. there are a list of .pdf files we a plethora of material to read up on. i'm thinking of downloading them all and reading them all.

here's the site:
http://www.esbconsult.com.au/ogden/l...hors/phors.htm

i personally have yet to visit an autox event or any live racing event. i'm sure there are a lot of others who have yet to do so as well. i just thought this would be a great link to relay all of the "basic drving techniques" to all of the newbie drivers like myself.

i read the first chapter last night...and fell asleep...

nah, but seriously, it was the real basics...back to the good old physics days of F=ma and stuff like that. but i think it will build up on the rest of the chapters. this guy seems very *nerdish* (in a good way:thumbup when it comes to this stuff. i'm printing the second tonight.

kepani-who forgot how he used to hate reading text books for school, but since it has a relation to cars, can't wait to get to the next chapter...

that's y i firmly believe that everybody should attend a Race School or atleast a Driving class in Auto Cross. They teach u to Get all the braking done before u enter a corner. Never Never Brake in a corner unless u know how to control it. It will cause a spin everytime if u don't immediatly correct your actions. This seams to be the cause of alot of accidents on the streets as was posted in another post sounds like he braked while taking the corner or a combintation of no tread.
