Help!
I ran into problem today. The LSD doesn't fit into the transmission case. The pictures below show the problem. The fins marked with the arrows in the top picture do not allow clearance for the housing of the LSD marked with the arrow in the bottom picture. The only way I see this LSD going into this transmission is if I grind down the fins, but I want to make sure this is safe and will not affect anything else. thanks

what type of lsd does the jdm y-1 have? gear type clutch etc?

 

you're suppose to shim where you have the red "B" written. Pop out tapered carrier bearing sleeve shim then re insert sleeve. When the diff fits, the top of the ring gear should be almost flat with the edge of the bottom case. To figur eout the shim size, stick diff in then measure from top of ring gear to top of lower case edge.

i thought you could just pop in an itr lsd into a b18c1 w.o. doing much modification?
