Integra Brake Swap Question
First off, I've already done a search, but found a lot of mixed opinions. I've got a 1" DC m/c, booster, and knuckles, swapping all four corners on a '93 CX without ABS. What prop valves will work for this application? I've heard that it must be from a 94-95 RS, but I also heard that if it says '4040' on it it's all good. Will a '4040' valve from a DA integra work? Also, what is the 4040 all about? is it a part number or the brake bias?
4040 is not the proportion percentage... its a part #. the proper prop valve is a 4040 from a non-abs teg, DA or DC gen. i have a 3040 prop valve (4 wheel disc, but 9.5" in the front) from a DA, and i'm running 94 gsr brakes all around witha 15/16 MC. works fine also.
Thanks for the info man, that kind of clears things up. One more question: I hear that you have to 'change the mounting bracket' if you use the valve from a DA. Will my stock bracket work?
nope, stock bracket definitely wont work. you will have to fab something up, but its not a big deal, once thr valve is in there, you will see what you have to do
I recently did an itr 5 lug and brake swap on my 92 hatch...and as far as the proportioning valve goes order one for a 95 civic si non abs. It is a direct replacement had will keep life a lot easyier when replacing it so you won't have to bend any lines in that area. And of course it looks the exact same as the one you got, but proportions different amtounts of fluid to the rear...You can tell by looking at the part numbers on the actual prop. valve...you can order it from here
