Default custom midpipe - any material other than steel?

Anyone try getting a custom midpipe made of anything other than steel? Just curious if I would be ablet to get an aluminum one made. Titanium woudl be good too, but way too much $$$. What exactly are the raw materials needed to fabricated a midpipe?

TIA.

aluminum is too soft and won't hold up well to NVH. stainless steel is ideal. mild steel for cost.

titanium would be a good choice. Magnesium isn't too bad too either when combined into an alloy of course. ELemental magnesium is cool to light up.

I'm a materials engineer so I should be able to figure something out. I'm not sure that an aluminum alloy would pose any serious problems actually. Titanium would obviously be the best choice for strength and weight but it's much tougher to get than aluminum. I actually did the math for steel vs aluminum for a tube approximately the length and width of a midpipe and you only end up saving a few pounds.

The ceramic-polymer structure sounds intersting!

silly materials engineers, Industrial is the only way to go. Aluminized steel would be best
