Default Whicjh type of gear box oil???

Hey Folks,

I have recently asked my local Honda dealer which type of Manual gear box oil I should use in my JDM Vtec, to which their Mech replied EP90.

I have replaced the oil with EP90 to find that getting first gear when engine is cold and motor is stationary is near impossible. I have just recived a manual for my LUDE and found that it says to use engine oil??!!

Any thoughts

I won't say search cause your new...

Most people on here say to use either Honda MTF or GM (Pennzoil) synchromesh MTF.
I use the synchromesh and have for the past 50k miles. I love it.

Yes the manual says to use motor oil... I don't agree.

While I don't think that it's a good long-term decision, I had to use some Pennzoil motor oil in my tranny for a few days and it was fiiiiine.

But use Honda's MTF or some Syncromesh, like Sephro said. I use Syncromesh, personally.
