Default will this engine combo work

i can get a 98 y8 auto out of the junkyard for 75 bucks. my d15b vtec is on its last legs. so can i use the intake manifold and cam out of the d15b in the y8. is there any reason not to use the y8 auto. i mean is there a difference between auto and manual as far as internals. it has the y8 intake manifold but its auto. so thats out of the question. but since the cam is out of the d15b it should make more power than the y8 cam right, plus its a 1.6 compared to a 1.5. anyones input is appreciated.

i dont think the cam from the d15b will work on the y8
you could just use the d15 head on the y8 block

ya, all the research i did said that the d15b cam was just under the comp/zex 59300. like if you put the 59300 in place of the d15b cam, youll only gain like 1-2 horse. well...everything i found on here suggests that. but what about using different bottom ends, like an a6 or even a sohc non-vtec zc bottom end with my head. cause the head on the d15b vtec is exactly the same thing an z6 head, all the markings and everything, just the cam is different. i just want a pretty potent combo and i need a new bottom end.

No you cant. But i think the guy was talking about getting the SOHC integra motor (atleast i hope thats what he was talking about) Sorry i dont know the code for it though.

You should rent out a dyno for the day and do a run with the stock y8 and then put the d15 cam in there right then and there and see if it makes more power over the stock y8. I would really like to know this incase if i go back to D series in my next car.

when did the teg have a sohc motor in it. not even the 86-89 tegs had a sohc. if there was a dyno within 450 miles of here i would. but it kinda suck as far as thats concerned.

and sorry, im not trying to start a fight or anyhting, i just have never heard of a teg having a sohc

The SOHC Integra was made in Japan only. I remember Tom talking about it way back in the day.
