Default jdm shift boot

is the shift boot suppose to just sit there being loose? or does it cling onto the bar? cuz i put mine in and i can move it around(the top part)

is the top of that boot freely sitting there(can it be moved up and down)?

Mine also just sits there, not attached to anything. It isn't bad at all though... only a short distance from the **** and it isn't like it falls down or anything...

picture is not working...

shift boot should fit snuggly into the console, and should not move at all...

well mine is weird then. cuz on the inside of the top of the boot. i have 3 little rubber lumps. soo i push the top of the boot down to where the shifter bends, and the three little lumps sqeeze the shifter bar. soo now it's low but it doesn't move easily. it looks good. well thanks guys

Your shift boot is fine. On the top of the shift boot there is a ring that just jiggles around and the shift boot just kinda sags. My stock one was the same. From what I can tell the only people that would have anything to worry about is the guys with 97-98's cause they have shift ***** that are actually conected to the shift boot and if they wanted a JDM one they would have to change the shift **** as well.

haah yeah i had the 98 one and it was connected to the ****. my cuzns and i didn't know how to take off the stock ****. turns out all we had to do was pull it down(the boot) . oh well, now i have the jdm boot, all i need is to get a jdm R shift ****. then i'm set.

btw, does anyone have a pic of the stock usdm 2000-01 itr **** and boot?
