installed egr still have check engin
i had a check engine and it gave a code 12 witch is the egr valve and my car was acting up. so i changed it and feels way better i disconnected battery cable and still check engine with code 12. any suggestions. i have a 92 accord with 95 vtec head but stock intake manifold and 95 vtec ecu.

Code 12 doesn't narrow down the problem to the EGR valve. It means there is a problem with the EGR system. That includes the valve, the electronic and vacuum controls, and maybe even the actual egr flow.

Code 12 means the EGR valve is likely not lifting when commanded by the ECU since ECU monitors valve lift. Most likey reason is lack of vacuum to the EGR valve (bad EGR vacuum solenoid, bad vacuum line) or perhaps the EGR is stuck closed and can't move.
You can temporarily route a vacuum line from throttle body manifold to the EGR. If EGR valve lifts and engine stumbles/dies, the EGR valve is OK and vacuum to EGR is missing.
