Default Rear quarter panel rust

Well rust on the rear quarter panel is an obvious thing but unfortunately I bought the car with it. Originally it was just a little rust spot and the rear area of wheel well on passenger side. Now that I moved to seattle the rust is growing at a magnificent rate!

What's the best way to go about fixing this? Just call a local body shop? Buy a completely new rear quarter panel? Bondo?
Thank you for your time, honda-tech is a godsend!

Also another quick question.
When doing a b16 swap on 88crxsi is it easy or probable to incorporate a LSD into the swap? A LSD with the swap would really make it fun to drive.
I'm just curious if this is done?

buy the new rear qtr I belive passager side around 400 drivers is like 425 this is new honda price dont do bondo if you plan on keeping the car if its a starter car and you'll sell it soon like within a 1 to 1 1/2 yrs slap that bondo on if your serious about the car get it done right the first time LSD is in the tranny if you dont do it when the swap is done you can always drop the tranny and do it later its all a matter of budget

I disagree with this idea on replacing the 1/4 panel. It really all depends on how bad, and how big it is. Has it rusted through the metal itself, or is it just surface rust with some bubbeling of the paint? More info is kind of needed.

Oh yea.. it's rusted through the metal.. about one inch wide and 2 inches long of paint is gone.. Not only is it bad but it's growing very fast considering here in Seattle it NEVER STOPS ******* RAINING!
Anyway I appreciate the help about the 425$ for the 1/4 panel and the info on the LSD.. I had no idea that the s1 or y1 tranny that came with the b16 had an LSD already in it.. cool thank you.
Before I go to the dealer I think I'm gonna try either junkyard or someone on this forum that might be parting one out.. anyways.. thank you again.

cut out your whole rear qtr panel and weld in another one. dont be ghetto and patch it up or just cut out the rust. the weld points tend to rust from underneath and when you patch it up.. it just grows like mold.

You follow me everywhere.

But for the rust, if its rusted through, that sucks. I have never had a car that bad before. Good luck on what you do with it.

As for my G20. I love it. I have the JDM motor sitting in my garage waiting to go in. I need to finish my civic firstthough, so I have something to drive when I do the swap. I may not even do it though. I just put my G20 up on the autotrader last night. I am now looking for a SVT Contour. But I will keep my Si.

DON'T even spend a dime on your car uneless you get that rust cut out and NEW sheet metal welded in. It is the only way to solve the problem. If you bondo it, it will get worse but you won't see it for awile. And make sure you pull that damn rubber surround from the rear wheel well too. It just traps dirt and water in there and it runs off to the front where everybody gets hit on there 4th gen. Also if have a sunroof make sure the rubber seal is in good condition so that water can't get in. Replace it if it is bad to prevent other hidden cancer areas. The body shop I go to says that is a major problem too with the 4th. gens.
